Aloha Porter beer label
Like Joe, I am also the official “graphic designer guy” of my friends and family. Occasionally, these projects can be very fun and rewarding. For example: beer labels for a home brewing operation are fun pieces of design that also pay in beer.

When my future brother-in-law Brian Hoesing enters a beer contest, he calls me. Labels are never required, but what harm can having professionally designed labels do, right? Not that his beer needs the help. He has won various competitions including a first place showing in the Specialty Beer Category for Sam Adams Longshot, Best of Show at Upstream’s Pro-AM, first in the European Amber Lager Category at KC Biermeisters, first in the Specialty Beer Category at the Left Hand Pro-Am, and People’s Choice at the last Beer Quest held at Empyrean Brewing.

Well, add another Beer Quest People’s Choice to the list. Aloha Porter just won their latest competition. Brewed with Hawaiian Cacao Nibs, Hawaiian Coconut, and Kona and Molokai Coffees, Aloha Porter was the favorite in a public judging. You’ll soon be able to enjoy a pint at your closest Lazlo’s.
