Ralston Public Schools logo and brand guide

Earlier in the year, Ralston Public Schools approached Oxide as a design partner to develop consistent brand standards and a refined logo mark. They suggested that the “R” in an apple idea of their previous logo needed to stay, as did the red and blue, but RPS was open to a logo evolution that progressed the mark while keeping it in the same logo family. The old RPS logo will still exist in some places and the process of implementing the…

Locavores branding

With a wealth of diverse business experience and a healthy measure of rolling-up-their-sleeves-and-get-things-done-ness, Wendi and Matt Seger set out on a new adventure: opening a restaurant in their hometown of Alamosa, Colorado.

50,000 words in 30 days

There’s this thing called NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) that some crazy writers participate in every November. The goal is to write a novel in one month — 50,000 words in 30 days. This year, I participated. That comes down to 1,667 words a day, but you can pace yourself however you like. The idea is quantity over quality. The one catch is that only shirts receiving 10 pre-orders by 31 October 2016 will be printed! (Orders on a shirt that…

2016 Get Out The Vote poster

Oxide was delighted to participate in 2016’s Get Out The Vote, a nonpartisan campaign hosted by AIGA every four years to encourage graphic designers to use their talents to motivate the American public to get out there and vote. This year’s program is presented in partnership with the League of Women Voters‘ Vote 411 initiative.

St. Luke UMC website

We recently launched a new website for St. Luke United Methodist Church. Since St. Luke’s needs for the site were fairly straightforward, we talked with them about utilizing a pre-existing professional WordPress template, and then customizing it to their specific needs. We like to use this hybrid solution when it will work best for our clients, allowing us to use a core of pre-built code elements to create the site more efficiently, and to keep costs as low as possible.
