I like this new logo. I think they should have put it up to a vote for the students. I’m sure they would have voted ‘Yes’. When I was attending school there we tried to change the school song and the alumni put a stop to it. Thanks for trying at least!!

This is great work. And your points about uniting the students, etc are all on point. I have a connection to the administrators and forwarded this article. I think you should go in that way, not through the football coach— he’s nevr going to “sell it” to anyone like you can. Good luck.

As a designer and social media guy, I have to admit I love the idea of creating stickers, getting it in the hands of the students, writing blogs, facebook pages, websites, etc. and maybe even write an editorial to try and get in the newspaper, World Herald AND Benson paper. Maybe get in touch with some sports writers and give them the logo to use for any stories about the bunnies.

BHS alumni, 1991. Love this logo. There is an annual BHS alumni pub crawl and this would look awesome on this year’s shirts. I think if we knew how best to help you, all of us that like this would do it. My 20 year reunion is this year…this logo would be great on the stuff for that, too. Its time for a change, and this is definitely a step in the right direction. Let me know how I can help….

Benson is my alma mater, and this breaks my heart. Some of the logos shown were in use 20 years ago. I remember the basketball team having their own logo and even went by the “Running Rabbits” moniker instead of Bunnies (they weren’t always Mighty).
I agree that the students are key to an update. I’d suggest contacting someone who teaches business classes with a class project suggestion. Students could apply the principles they’re learning and conduct some sort of feasibilty study- surveying students, interviewing coaches, budgeting for a changeover, working with almuni, etc. They would sell it from within.
Another idea would be to approach the school paper and yearbook editors and see if they’d like to use the design in their masthead or cover design.

Bunny alum 1990-
I’m at work today, and am wearing a Benson HS t-shirt. A fellow employee asked me what was with the shirt. Obligatory explanation ensued. She didn’t believe it was really my high school. I told her to Google it. I noticed this logo on Google images and was excited that Benson changed their look to something so hip! Alas, after reading the story above, I am a sad panda.
I thought the idea above was great to go viral with it. Cut a couple hundred stickers and distribute them at games or at the parking lot for free. Start a Facebook page to promote it. Matter of fact I’m going to place this article on my FB page, and get my other alums involved. Keep up the fight. War Bunnies. Great work, sir.
