Protect the Vote poster

Last month, Oxide contributed to a poster show held by Civic Nebraska (formerly Nebraskans for Civic Reform). The show raised money to support the organization’s voting rights efforts. Civic Nebraska is part of a larger group of advocates in Nebraska and nationwide, working hard every day to improve our democracy. This includes, but is not limited to, efforts to prevent new barriers from being created, advocating for increased accessibility to the polls, and pursuing policies to modernize our voting system. Voting…

Verdis Group website

As their name would suggest, Verdis Group is all about doing things green. They provide sustainability practices and solutions to large companies and organizations throughout the Omaha metro area and beyond. One thing I really appreciate about Verdis Group is their approach. Their methods aren’t green for the sake of being green; Verdis Group offers their clients methods to reduce costs while reducing their carbon footprint. It’s really a win-win for everyone.

McCarthy Capital identity

McCarthy Capital is a private-equity firm founded in Omaha in 1986. They are a partnership of experienced investment professionals specializing in helping companies grow. McCarthy partners with entrepreneurs and businesses to provide capital, guidance, and strategic resources for long-term growth. Recently, McCarthy approached Oxide about partnering to update their identity. In this industry, trust matters — and McCarthy Capital has been a trusted name for 31 years. Their established visuals were a very important starting place and completely reinventing their…

Animus:
Film vs. Book 2017

For the third year in a row, Oxide had the pleasure of designing the promotional materials for Animus: Film vs. Book, the 1877 Society’s annual event. The event brings together book and film enthusiasts to debate (to the death!) which one is better — all while having fun and raising funds for the Omaha Public Library’s programs and services.

Artemis Teas Packaging

After recently redesigning the Artemis Teas identity, we had the opportunity to completely rethink their tea packaging. Being lovers of package design, we jumped at the chance! Artemis Teas founder Andrea Lawse is very conscious of our relationship with the planet and passionate about making sure it is well taken care of well into the future. Andrea wanted the tea packaging to be fully recyclable in addition to being compostable. Finding a bag that fit size requirements in addition to…

Ralston Public Schools logo and brand guide

Earlier in the year, Ralston Public Schools approached Oxide as a design partner to develop consistent brand standards and a refined logo mark. They suggested that the “R” in an apple idea of their previous logo needed to stay, as did the red and blue, but RPS was open to a logo evolution that progressed the mark while keeping it in the same logo family. The old RPS logo will still exist in some places and the process of implementing the…

I Love Public Schools t-shirts

We would be honestly surprised if you live in Nebraska and have not seen someone wearing an I Love Public Schools t-shirt. Nebraska Loves Public Schools, with help from the Sherwood Foundation, has been offering them to Nebraska public school employees free of charge for some time now. The public can also get their hands on them by purchasing one here. Each purchase helps provide the future t-shirts to public schools employees. A great conversation starter, the I Love Public Schools t-shirt…

Michael Bierut commemorative poster

How do you design a poster to promote one of the most recognizable designers of the modern era? I sit on the board of directors for design alliance OMAha (a local organization about design in all forms and the education and community that perpetuate it). As part of an ongoing speaker series, we arranged to host Michael Bierut of Pentagram to commemorate the tenth anniversary of daOMA. The team at Oxide jumped at the chance to design the promotional materials…

Animus:
Film vs. Book 2016

After establishing old-world style branding for the 1877 Society, we helped brand and design their fundraising event Animus: Film vs. Book in a similar style. We had a blast working through these projects, so we jumped at the chance to create the poster for the group’s second-annual Animus.
