It’s portfolio review season, so if you’re showing your portfolio around this year, there’s a chance you’ll see one of us. Personally, I’m returning from a portfolio-review-hiatus.

You’re probably thinking: “Mr. Sparano, Professional Designer at Oxide Design Co., why in the world would you need to take a break from student portfolio reviews? It’s totally fun!”

Usually, yes, it can be fun. Sometimes, no, it’s really not. Here’s the sad truth: if you don’t care about your work, neither do we.

When we sit down to review your portfolio, our goal is to help you. Regardless of the quality of your work, if you want to be a better designer, we can help you. Plus, we have fun doing it. We care about design, and we like talking to students who care too.
