Adam designs logos in his dreams.

That doesn’t mean he can design in his sleep though. He puts in the hard work, approaching every project with passion, pairing conceptual thinking with craftsmanship. Adam feels extremely lucky to have found a profession that suits his talents and, more specifically, a job the gives him the flexibility and freedom to put those skills into practice. He truly believes that when you enjoy what you do for a living, it’s no longer work.

In 2016, after eight years at Oxide’s headquarters in Omaha, Adam began working remotely at our Kearney Nebraska Outpost. He spends his personal time doing design projects for friends and family, playing ice hockey, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with his beautiful wife and children.

Adam’s inspiration

Adam believes that the key to keeping your work unique is seeing how creatives in other fields solve problems.

Adam’s favorite projects

Adam loves identity design. From concepting logos to building in-depth brand guidelines, that's where his passion lies.

Secret Artist 1

I’ve been working as a commercial artist for over 10 years now. While I love being a graphic designer, I often think about how much I used to enjoy creating fine art. As designers, our work has a specific purpose, which is great, but there’s something special about creating art for art’s sake. Nothing is stopping me from doing this, but working in the design field does give me a lot of creative fulfillment on a day-to-day basis. If I’m…

Protect the Vote poster

Last month, Oxide contributed to a poster show held by Civic Nebraska (formerly Nebraskans for Civic Reform). The show raised money to support the organization’s voting rights efforts. Civic Nebraska is part of a larger group of advocates in Nebraska and nationwide, working hard every day to improve our democracy. This includes, but is not limited to, efforts to prevent new barriers from being created, advocating for increased accessibility to the polls, and pursuing policies to modernize our voting system. Protect…

Goodbye, Omaha.

In less than two months, I will be moving to Kearney, Nebraska, with my wife and child. This is without question the hardest decision I’ve had to make so far. I’ll be moving away from the city I’ve called home for the last eight years, my two brothers and their families, great friends, our beautiful home, and, of course, all that this amazing city has to offer. I will not, however, be leaving my job at Oxide. I love Omaha.…

Adam’s Great™ movies

A while back, Joe shared his Great™ movie list. As I looked through it, I began thinking about what movies I thought were Great™. I soon realized that this was a rather difficult task. You have to decide where your cut off point is and how to judge movies of all genres on one scale. Joe decided, and we all agree, that a Great movie is one that you would watch RIGHT NOW (given the opportunity). While I can’t guarantee…

Adam & Gina’s wedding invitations

On June 26th, I will be getting married to my wonderful fiance, Gina. Since most of the people we are inviting to our wedding have no idea what I do for a living, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to show them. I spent a few months running through color palettes and collecting examples of design styles that I liked. Some of my friends saw this as very odd since wedding decisions aren’t typically handled by the male…
