I am extremely excited to announce that author, writer, and all-around brilliant creative Rainbow Rowell has joined the team at Oxide Design Co. Most recently, Rainbow was a columnist at the Omaha World-Herald (and still carries the distinction of being the youngest person and the first woman to be given a column at the paper). Rainbow also has experience in the advertising and design world, working for clients including Disney World, Union Pacific, ConAgra Foods, and The Nature Conservancy, among others. Her creative copywriting has been featured in Communication Arts and many other industry publications.
Attachments, a novel by Rainbow Rowell
Rainbow is also an accomplished novelist. Her first book, Attachments, came out in 2011 and has been translated into half a dozen languages. It was on Entertainment Weekly‘s Best of Summer list. She has two more books being published in 2013: Eleanor & Park at the end of February, and Fangirl in the fall. She’s much better at writing of all kinds than I am, as evidenced in her version of her biography.
We’ve been working with Rainbow on various projects recently, and it’s become clear that Oxide + Rainbow is more than the sum of its parts. Rainbow has great industry experience, but it’s all of the things she’s doing outside of the traditional marketing industry that make her work so well-rounded. Her honest, authentic approach make her a great fit for the team, and her creative strategy, concepting, and copywriting make the design work of Oxide even better. Exponentially better, to be perfectly honest.
In addition to her award-winning copywriting, Rainbow will be involved with our clients in every phase of the creative process. As Oxide celebrates our 11th anniversary, we’re excited about what our next phase holds with Rainbow Rowell on the team. You can look forward to hearing a lot more from Rainbow in the near future.
